Arsenal Transfer News Today: Berta pushes for 'untouchable' striker as €144m bomb drops
All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Pio Esposito, Morgan Rogers and Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Berta still keen on Esposito
Arsenal director Andrea Berta remains a fan of Inter striker Pio Esposito, according to TuttoSport.
The Gunners were heavily linked with a move for the 20-year-old a couple of months ago, but this speculation went quiet when it became clear that he was not for sale. Inter consider Esposito "untouchable." However, his future has now once again come into focus.
Berta remains a huge admirer and continues to monitor him, while Newcastle are now also showing an interest. Despite the Magpies being willing to spend big on the youngster after selling Anthony Gordon, Inter are not budging from their not-for-sale stance and want to hand him a new contract.
Rogers price explodes
Arsenal may be forced to shell out a significantly higher fee if they wish to sign Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers than initially anticipated, as per The Telegraph.
With Villa open to a sale, it was previously thought that a deal could be done for a fee between €90 million and €100m. However, this could yet change due to the Elliot Anderson transfer saga, which is set to drive Rogers' price up.
Should the Nottingham Forest midfielder seal a Premier League-record transfer to Man City, Villa are likely to demand significantly more for Rogers, given that both are of a similar age and talent level. Forest want an upfront fee of at least €144m, it is claimed.
Record Bouaddi fee
Arsenal will have to make Ayyoub Bouaddi the most expensive 18-year-old of all time if they wish to sign him from Lille, TEAMtalk asserts.
The Morocco international starred on his World Cup debut at the weekend, which has only served to increase the already well-documented interest in him. Arsenal are desperate to sign him, but numerous other clubs are now also being linked.
It is stated that Lille will only consider bids in the region of €70m, and this is subject to change should he continue to impress on the biggest stage over the next month. As a result, Bouaddi is likely to shatter the €60m fee Real Madrid agreed to pay for Endrick.
Gibbs-White update
Arsenal are interested in Morgan Gibbs-White, but Nottingham Forest are determined to keep hold of him, CaughtOffside claims.
With the aforementioned Anderson expected to leave the City Ground, Forest are adamant that they will not lose another key player. He is not for sale this summer after signing a new long-term contract last year.
It would require a massive fee - potentially one in the same ballpark as Rogers or higher - to get Forest to change their stance. As a result, Gibbs-White is expected to remain with the Tricky Trees for the foreseeable future.
Brown impresses, but...
Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown impressed for Germany on his World Cup debut on Sunday.
The attack-minded full-back was irresistible as the Germans put Curacao to the sword and won 7-1 in Houston. The 22-year-old is known to be a target for Arsenal this summer.
However, reports in Germany suggest that he is on the verge of completing a transfer to Bayern Munich. Having wrapped up a deal for PSV and Morocco star Ismael Saibari, the Bavarians are now expected to finalise the signing of Brown.
