Arsenal are exploring a move for Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis, but joining the Gunners would be a gamble for the Greek forward.

The 24-year-old has hit like a bomb in Belgium since joining in a bargain €6.5 million move from Fortuna Dusseldorf in the summer of 2024. Tzolis has produced a whopping 43 goals and 45 assists in his two seasons at Club Brugge.

Given these numbers, it is unsurprising that bigger clubs have come calling. Last year, Crystal Palace made an unsuccessful bid to sign him. This time around, the suitors are even more illustrious: Arsenal are considering signing him, as per The Athletic.

The Gunners believe that Tzolis could be a market opportunity this summer, as Brugge are thought to be receptive to offers in the region of €40m. However, the Greece international would not join the Gunners to be the main man.

Reporter David Ornstein emphasises that the possible signing of Tzolis has no bearing on Arsenal's other attacking pursuits, most notably their interest in Aston Villa superstar Morgan Rogers. He would not be a marquee signing despite his €40m price tag.

Tzolis should steer clear of Arsenal

While Tzolis is understood to be very keen to join the Premier League champions - who wouldn't be? - data from analytics firm SciSports suggests that he should reconsider this stance.

Tzolis was the standout winger in the Jupiler Pro League in the 2025/26 season, but there are doubts over whether this is enough to play for a club like Arsenal. The last time Tzolis featured in the Premier League - at Norwich - he struggled.

By analysing hundreds of in-game data points, SciSports calculates a SciSkill rating, and the 24-year-old's current level is believed to be solid enough to play for a mid-table Premier League side. Tzolis would do well at a club like Fulham.

It's a different story at Arsenal, though. Both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have a significantly higher SciSkill rating than Tzolis. There would also be a playstyle concern with the Gunners.

According to SciSports' Career Advice tool, Tzolis is not an obvious stylistic fit for Mikel Arteta's system. In fact, when analysing all possible factors such as style, playing time prospects and development opportunities, SciSports comes up with an okay but unspectacular Club Fit rating of 72 out of 100.

There are better options out there. Putting aside the concerns over his skill rating, Tzolis would be an ideal fit for Man Utd. He suits Michael Carrick's approach better and is given a Club Fit rating of 85. Man Utd are the Greek's best option.

If he wants to take the gamble and join an elite Premier League side, then he should look to make it Man Utd rather than Arsenal.
