Agreement reached with Ederson

Manchester United have reached a contract agreement with Atalanta midfielder Ederson ahead of a possible €45 million summer transfer, according to reports in Italy.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Man Utd were “pushing” to bring Ederson to the club this summer and Italian transfer reporter Nicolo Schira has now claimed that a contract agreement has been reached.

He posted on X: “Ederson has agreed personal terms with Manchester United for a contract until 2031 (€5M/year). Man Utd are ready to offer €45M to Atalanta to try to close the deal.”

Ederson has also been heavily linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, but Diego Simeone’s side are on the verge of finalising a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Joao Gomes, which could leave Man Utd with a free run at signing him.

Kalulu interest emerges

Manchester United and Liverpool are both “ready to do anything” to secure the signing of Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu, according to reports in Italy.

Kalulu has played at centre-back and right-back for Juve this term and he has been heavily linked with both Man Utd and Liverpool in recent weeks, with the English giants keen to bolster their defensive options during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Aston Villa have also been touted as a possible destination for the 25-year-old, although they will be required to act swiftly if they want to sign him ahead of next season. That is because Italian publication Calciomercato claim that Man Utd and Liverpool are “ready to do anything” to sign Kalulu this summer.

It’s reported that Juventus have no intention of sanctioning a sale, having only signed him on a permanent deal from AC Milan last July, but an offer in excess of €40 million will cause the Turin outfit to re-evaluate their stance and consider a possible deal.

Man Utd make call over ‘untouchable’ Diallo

Manchester United have made a decision over the future of Amad Diallo after the winger was linked with a move away this summer following an underwhelming campaign.

The 23-year-old has come under fire in recent weeks for his decline in output and recent reports have suggested that the likes of Sunderland are interested in a potential move for Amad if United consider selling the Ivory Coast international.

However, TEAMtalk report that United have ‘laughed off’ any suggestions of Amad leaving Old Trafford this summer and still see the youngster as a ‘major’ long-term part of the future.

It is claimed that Amad is ‘firmly considered’ as ‘untouchable’ unless an ‘extraordinary situation’ develops, with neither United or the player having an appetite to explore an exit this summer.

Stam would ‘go on bike’ to sign De Jong for Man Utd

Jaap Stam believes Frenkie de Jong would be the ‘ideal player’ for Manchester United, with the former Dutch international insisting he would ‘go on my bike to Barcelona and bring him myself’ to his former club.

“We can discuss his physique in the Premier League, maybe, because if you go into one-vs-ones or the tackling part of it and the physical part, then of course he’s not the biggest, but he’s a very good player,” Stam told ComeOn.

“And I think looking at Michael Carrick, how he wants to play, he also wants players who can control the game with the ball at their feet and be very dominant. Then you don’t need to defend very much.

“But Frenkie, yeah, he’s a world-class player. He’s one of the best midfield players there is, and he’s very comfortable on the ball, especially playing out from the back and dictating that and helping the team out to go forward and get into the final third to score goals.

“So, if the opportunity was there for United, I would help them out. I’ll go on my bike to Barcelona and bring him to United, no problem.”

“Yes, of course, it's a very hard league and next year will be a hard programme,” Lammens said when asked if United needed more depth next season. “So you want to get as many, or you want to have people in there who can come in when it's needed.

“I think personally we have a lot of quality already in the squad this year. But, of course, next season is going to be a lot, and you also want to include injuries and stuff that can happen just like today.

“We want to make a good and strong squad for next season. But also this season I think we have been able to do that as well.”
