Man Utd transfer news: Anderson decision as midfielder 'on verge' of signing Red Devils contract
All the latest transfer news from Old Trafford as the midfield picture for next season becomes clearer.
Elliot Anderson transfer decision confirmed
Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson has long been touted as Man Utd’s ideal signing for the summer as they prepare for life without Casemiro.
While there have been reports that the Red Devils are ready to go all-out to sign the England international, The Mirror claims that Anderson has decided to sign for Manchester City in the summer.
It is reported that City will pay around €75 million (£65m) to snap up Anderson from under the noses of their neighbours.
Mainoo ‘on the verge’ of signing new contract
Kobbie Mainoo is close to committing his long-term future to Man Utd, with Sky Sport Switzerland reporting that he is “on the verge” of signing a new deal with the club.
After a frustrating spell under Ruben Amorim, Mainoo is back in favour at Old Trafford and is now considered to be one of the few “untouchable” players at the club.
With that in mind, the 20-year-old is ready to sign a new deal with the club.
Man Utd sent Stiller warning
Man Utd have been told that they may need to act quickly if they still want to sign Angelo Stiller from Stuttgart.
The Germany midfield has been linked with a move to the Red Devils and Real Madrid in the past and has a release clause worth €40m in his contract.
However, his club can buy this out at any point for €2m, keeping the rest of his contract, which expires in 2028 intact, Florian Plettenberg reports on X.
Marco Palestra: Man Utd’s new right-back target
United are one of a number of teams following the future of Italy right-back Marco Palestra, TeamTalk reports.
The Atalanta defender, who is on loan at Cagliari, is expected to be available for around €45m in the summer.
Liverpool are particularly interested in him because they believe they need a more defensive right-back option. Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona are also following the 21-year-old.
Onana to be pushed out
Andre Onana may want to return to Man Utd when his loan deal at Trabzonspor expires, but the Red Devils have no intention of allowing the Cameroon star back into the squad at Old Trafford, The Daily Mail reports.
Onana’s representatives will hold talks with the club in the coming weeks to discuss his future, with the target to recoup as much of the €50m they paid for him as possible.
While United accept that a permanent sale may not be possible, they are prepared to listen to offers for another loan. Besiktas and Monaco are likely to be interested, while Saudi Pro League side Neom could be an option.
Altay Bayindir is also set to leave the club, which is set to mean another goalkeeper would be signed.
