Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon is set to be the subject of a huge €100 million offer from Man Utd, according to Fichajes.

Gordon has taken the UEFA Champions League by storm this season with six goals and two assists in eight matches, a major improvement after going without a goal contribution in the 2023/24 edition of the tournament.

The pacy 24-year-old — who turns 25 in six days — has seen his Premier League production dip since a peak of 11 goals and 10 assists in 2023/24, but his talent is unquestioned.

Man Utd target another Premier League player

After watching expensive imports from foreign leagues such as Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, and Rasmus Hojlund struggle to adapt to the Premier League in recent seasons, Man Utd have switched their attention to signing players from league rivals.

Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo seem to have kick-started that trend, and their summer transfers for €74.2 million and €75m, respectively, have paid dividends.

Mbeumo is the club’s leading scorer in the league with nine goals, while Cunha is tied for second with six. Cunha, Mbeumo, and Gordon are all versatile players, which would give whomever Man Utd hire as their next permanent manager options depending on the opponent.

Cunha can play as a No. 10, striker, or left winger, while Mbeumo can play as a centre-forward or cut in from the right. Gordon is best on the wing, but he has spent time up front this season.

Gordon, who arrived at St. James’ Park from Everton for a €45.6 million fee as a 21-year-old, has certainly increased his value in the years since. It remains to be seen if Man Utd will shell out nine figures for the England international’s services.
