Real Madrid submit Enzo Fernandez swap deal offer
Real Madrid have launched a swap deal proposal for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, according to a sensational report in Spain.
The Argentina international is among Los Blancos’ top transfer targets for 2026 and he continues to be linked with a bombshell move to the Bernabeu, despite the crucial role he currently plays for Chelsea.
The reigning Club World Cup champions have no intention of sanctioning a sale, but Real Madrid are ready to test their resolve by lodging an offer that includes a €60 million transfer fee and Eduardo Camavinga.
That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that Real Madrid view Camavinga as the ideal “bargaining chip” in their bid to finally sign Fernandez after missing out on him in January 2023.
However, Alvaro Arbeloa’s side have been informed by Chelsea that they must submit a significantly improved offer if they want to land the 25-year-old this summer.
Enzo Fernandez set to stay at Chelsea
Despite rumours of a move to Real Madrid, it’s believed that Fernandez will remain a Chelsea player next season.
The Argentina star still has six-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge and BBC Sport claim that he wants to sign improved terms with the west London giants.
Meanwhile, head coach Liam Rosenior hinted that Fernandez will continue to play a key role for the foreseeable future when asked about the midfielder recently.
“When you're a world-class player, there is always going to be speculation you cannot control,” Rosenior admitted to reporters.
"Enzo has been outstanding in the time I have worked with him… He's a Chelsea player. I hope we're going to have a successful working relationship in the long-term and short-term.”
He also added: “I love Enzo because he’s world class in all of the roles you’ve just mentioned [defensive midfield, central midfield or attacking midfield].
“You can play him as a deep-lying six who can get on the ball and make 100 passes a game. You can play him as an eight who plays box-to-box and arrives in the box and scores goals but also protects his own box. Or you can play him as a ten, because he can connect, he can create assists and score goals. He’s just a magnificent footballer.
“He gives me tactical flexibility for each game, against different opposition. My job is to find what functions around him the best so the team functions with him in the very best way.”
