West Ham United manager Nuno Espirito Santo finds himself under increasing pressure following his side’s 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Nuno, who has already been sacked by Forest this season, has been unable to turn around the Irons’ fortunes after a poor start to the campaign.

The 51-year-old has been in charge of West Ham for 19 matches but has overseen only two victories.

Defeat against his former club at home marked a 10th winless game in succession for the East London club, who are now seven points from safety in the Premier League and have the poorest defensive record in the whole of the division.

The Hammers were booed off after their loss against Forest, with fans making it clear what they feel about the situation the team currently finds itself in.

Nuno set for West Ham talks: Transfers, not sack, on the agenda

West Ham, who have already parted company with Graham Potter this season, are not ready to sack Nuno, Sky Sports News has been told.

Instead, the manager is expected to receive more support in the transfer market, having already signed Pablo and Taty Castellanos for a combined €54 million this January.

“Discussions are expected to take place today among the hierarchy and … they are more likely to centre on transfers rather than Nuno’s position,” the report states.

“West Ham have embarked on a transfer strategy to support the Portuguese, which includes trying to sign his targets. They have already landed two new strikers – Pablo and Taty Castellanos – for around £50m in the last week.

“Pablo is represented by the same agency as Nuno – Jorge Mendes’s Gestifute – and both Nuno and Mendes have worked before with another prime target: the Fulham winger Adama Traore.”
