Chelsea schedule Cole Palmer transfer talks
Chelsea may reportedly hold talks with Cole Palmer over his long-term future at the club this summer amid significant transfer interest from Manchester United.
The England international has endured an injury-hit campaign and reports have suggested that he wants to return to Manchester later this year as he is no longer content in London.
Chelsea are, however, reluctant to lose the 23-year-old and they remain in a strong negotiating position as Palmer’s current contract in west London isn’t due to expire until 2033.
Despite this, the Blues will assess Palmer’s long-term future at the club following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season and will engage in conversations with the Englishman this summer if necessary, as per a report from TEAMtalk.
A transfer has never been a possibility during the winter window and Palmer remains committed to Chelsea’s project, despite the fact they are yet to challenge for the Premier League title since his arrival from Manchester City.
If Palmer was to ever leave Stamford Bridge, TEAMtalk claim that Aston Villa superstar Morgan Rogers will likely be targeted as a replacement option.
Liam Rosenior comments on Cole Palmer transfer speculation
Rumours linking Palmer with a Chelsea exit have intensified in recent weeks, although Blues head coach Rosenior is eager to downplay reports that his star player may push to leave this summer.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, Rosenior told reporters: “I've had numerous conversations with Cole and he seems very, very happy to be here.
“He is very, very happy to be here. He's a huge part of our plans in the long-term. He's an outstanding player.
“Every player goes through difficult times in his career because of injury. I don't think it's any reflection on his quality. My job and the club's job is to get him in a place where he can consistently perform at the level he wants to.
“There was frustration in the Brentford game, not because he isn't happy here, just because he was in pain and he couldn't perform to the level he wanted to for the club.
“He's a great kid and an outstanding player but we have to make sure we look after him in the right way. That's why I didn't involve him in the last game [against Pafos in the Champions League].”
