Real Madrid have picked Vini Jr’s replacement after ‘€200m Man Utd bid’
Vinicius Junior’s replacement at Real Madrid has already been selected after reports that Manchester United have tabled a €200 million bid for the attacker – with head coach Xabi Alonso picking a surprise option to take the spot of the Brazilian.
Who wants to sign Vini Jr? Man Utd make record move
Los Blancos look increasingly likely to allow Vini Jr to leave next summer. The Brazil international is out of contract and the board of Los Blancos are unimpressed with his attitude and his recent form.
Rumours are increasing over teams who may be prepared to buy him. Manchester United have reportedly made a €200m bid for the attacker, although based on the financial restrictions that the Old Trafford club are working under, this should be taken with a big pinch of salt.
Similarly, PSG have been associated with the forward, whose attitude does not appear to fit easily with the Champions League winners’ new ethos.
Manchester City and a move to the Saudi Pro League are other possibilities for the 25-year-old.
Jeremy Monga to replace Vini Jr at Real Madrid?
Real Madrid have already picked their replacement for the 2024 Ballon d'Or runner-up. Los Blancos are ready to take the route of signing a young prospect, with Leicester City sensation Jeremy Monga firmly in the sights of the Bernabeu side, according to Fichajes.
The 16-year-old Leicester wonderkid has attracted interest from all over Europe and the Premier League, but Real Madrid want to beat their competitors to signing the young Englishman.
Born in Coventry, Monga has appeared 12 times for the Foxes so far this season, scoring one goal and producing another assist. He is a versatile attacking midfielder who can operate either on the left or right, giving him an edge over Vini in this regard.
The England U19 international is seen by Real Madrid as a player who “combines maturity and flair”.
Doubts over Monga deal
Despite the report, Monga cannot move to Real Madrid until he turns 18 years old, per FIFA legislation.
Players who are under this age are not allowed to move to a new country unless there are conditions that the Leicester ace does not meet, such as his parents moving country for non-footballing reasons.
Brexit plays a major role in this. While players 16-18 are free to move between countries in the EU, since the UK left the block, this is no longer the case.
Real Madrid would therefore have to wait until 2027 to complete a deal for Monga.
