Arsenal scouts to attend Strasbourg match as wonderkid raid prepared
Arsenal scouts will be in attendance when Strasbourg take on BK Hacken in the Conference League, but the player who has attracted their attention is not playing for Chelsea's sister club.
The BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side are currently in a bit of a rough patch, as they have only managed to win one game since their stunning 3-3 draw with PSG in mid-October.
Their upcoming Conference League clash with Swedish side BK Hacken offers a great chance to bounce back as they will be the favourites to come out on top.
However, while Strasbourg are stacked with talent thanks to the investment from Chelsea's owners, it is a Hacken player who has attracted the attention of Premier League leaders Arsenal.
According Ekstrabladet, the Gunners and other Premier League clubs have taken a liking to 21-year-old midfielder Silas Andersen, who has already had a bit of a journeyman career at his young age.
Arsenal keeping tabs on Andersen
A Danish youth international of Turkish descent, Andersen spent time in the academy systems of Copenhagen and Inter before joining Dutch side Utrecht. In January 2025, he moved to Hacken in a €1 million deal - a sizeable outlay for the Swedish club.
Since joining, he has already made 40 appearances, contributing with four goals and a pair of assists from his defensive midfield position. In addition to Arsenal, Nottingham Forest have taken notice of his exploits in Sweden.
It is now being reported that Arsenal will have scouts in attendance when Hacken host Strasbourg on Thursday, although they will surely also be watching a few BlueCo players.
At this stage, it is unclear how serious Arsenal's interest in the 21-year-old is, but he could potentially be seen as a future replacement for compatriot Christian Norgaard. The 31-year-old joined on a two-year deal in the summer to act as backup to Martin Zubimendi.
Andersen has already been quizzed on the interest he has been fielding from England. Naturally, he is attracted by this potential opportunity. “The Premier League is the Premier League. It would be great to come,” he said.
