Arsenal Transfer News Today: Bukayo Saka contract update as Arteta eyes €80m winger deal
Get the latest Arsenal transfer news with updates on Bukayo Saka, Jean Bahoya, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Kenan Yildiz deals.
Arteta gives update on Saka contract talks
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on Bukayo Saka’s new contract talks, indicating that they are progressing as planned.
“What I'm very aware of is he wants to continue with us,” the manager told the media. “He's very happy and he wants to continue in the place he wants to be in and achieve everything we want to achieve together.
“When and how that happens? I will leave it to Andrea Berta to figure it out...”
Reports have indicated that Saka’s deal is all-but agreed, with the 24-year-old set to receive a bumper new salary.
Arsenal eye Frankfurt talent Bahoya
Eintracht Frankfurt have a habit of producing high-quality attacking players, and the latest of these, Jean Bahoya, is being targeted by Arsenal, according to Sport1 (via Get Football News Germany).
Bahoya started the season in electric form as he netted doubles in the opening two Bundesliga matches of the campaign, yet he has since grown unhappy as he has been pushed to the bench.
Signed from Angers for just €8 million in 2024, notoriously hard bargain drivers Frankfurt have slapped an €80m valuation on the 20-year-old Frenchman, according to reports in Germany.
A left winger who is also capable of playing in the No.10 role, he has a similar profile to Eberechi Eze and could be on his way to the Emirates in the summer given there is uncertainty over the future of a number of Arsenal forwards.
Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard could all be up for sale at some stage in 2026, and Bahoya is seen as a player who could represent the next generation of stars at the Emirates.
Arsenal track Crystal Palace striker Mateta
Jean-Philippe Mateta could become a serious transfer target for Arsenal should he fail to agree a new contract with Crystal Palace.
The France international has enjoyed a spectacular 18 months at Selhurst Park and has attracted widespread Premier League interest, with Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle all monitoring him.
CaughtOffside reports that Arsenal, along with Liverpool, are the frontrunners to sign the striker.
It is noted, however, that there is an increasing trend that the 28-year-old will sign a new deal with Palace, who face a potential summer exodus given the interest in Marc Guehi, Adam Wharton, Daniel Munoz and others.
Arsenal open talks for Juventus star Yildiz
Arsenal have started talks to sign Juventus wonderkid Kenan Yildiz, according to CaughtOffside.
The 20-year-old Turkey international is valued around the €90-100 million mark by his club and has attracted interest from several major teams in recent months thanks to his sparkling displays in Turin.
Now the Gunners have opened discussions with super agent Jorge Mendes, the creative forward’s representative, with a view to assessing their ability to sign the player.
A transfer promises to be a challenge given interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, while Juve remain well placed to keep Yildiz as he is under contract until 2029.
Yildiz is in talks over a new deal with the Serie A giants, but these negotiations have stalled recently, fuelling the possibility that he could depart in 2026.
