Man Utd curse: Hojlund in the form of his life as Rashford verdict drops
Napoli striker Rasmus Hojlund has 'never been better,' according to Danish media, and Marcus Rashford has explained why players struggle to perform at Manchester United.
Denmark attacker Hojlund has continued the trend of players reviving their careers after leaving Old Trafford, scoring three times in his two outings during the international break.
In his past four games for club and country, the Napoli striker has scored six goals. The 22-year-old looks refreshed and full of confidence - a far cry from his final months at Man Utd.
Like Antony, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford, Hojlund has enjoyed a renaissance since he departed from the Red Devils. In fact, according to Danish outlet Tipsbladet, the young forward is in the form of his life after netting a brace against Belarus and once against Greece.
“He has probably never been better than he is right now," the report states. "A gigantic contrast to the international matches in June, where he struggled. Right now, Hojlund is red-hot and full of self-confidence. He was ice-cold when he was given a huge gift by the Greeks.”
Rashford explains Man Utd struggles
According to the aforementioned Rashford, a lack of consistency at Man Utd is to blame for his struggles. His comments can safely be extrapolated to the other Man Utd players, past and present, such as Hojlund.
"For sure, consistency is a massive part of it," Rashford explained in an interview with ITV. "I feel like I have been in an inconsistent environment for a very long time, so it is even more difficult to be consistent.
"But I completely agree, I think consistency is what I need to bring into my game, and I am looking to do that. I want to be at my best, not sometimes, but as often as possible.
"When people talk about consistency, in order to be consistent in anything, not just sport, you need consistent variables in your life and the way you train. We have just had so many changes so far in my career.
"But I have to look forward, and that is definitely one of the things I want to put right and improve on to be at my best more often. When I am at my best, I really enjoy everything about the sport."
