Fabrizio Romano Transfer News: Huge Chelsea offer, Man Utd interest confirmed, Barca's Rashford plan
Fabrizio Romano has provided some massive updates on the biggest transfer stories from around Europe, including the latest on Marcus Rashford, Angelo Stiller and Andrey Santos.
Ziyech set for Casablanca move
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed that former Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech is set to join Wydad Casablanca as a free agent after stints in Turkey and Qatar.
"Hakim Ziyech will be a new player for Wydat Casablanca. He will be back in Morocco. One-year contract, the agreement is verbally done, working to complete everything with the formal steps.
"And so good luck to Ziyech, who is ready to return to football after several approaches. Also, during the summer transfer window, he decided to wait for the right opportunity. And now, in October, Ziyech - back to action. He will be a new player of Wydat Casablanca in Morocco."
Rashford loving life at Barcelona
Romano then reiterated that Marcus Rashford is loving life at Barcelona and that he would be ready to take a pay cut to join them permanently next summer.
"Rashford is doing great at Barcelona. Rashford is sending very clear messages. His desire to be a Barcelona player is there since January 2025. Almost one year ago, in the January window, it was not possible to make the deal happen because Barcelona didn't have the space to register and sign Rashford because Ansu Fati didn't want to leave the club in January.
"Then in the summer, Ansu Fati accepted the possibility to leave Barcelona, went to Monaco, Barcelona had the space to sign Rashford and they completed the transfer on a loan deal with a €30 million buy option clause.
"Now, Rashford is performing in a fantastic way, already reaching 10 goal contributions between goals and assists, doing very well also in the Champions League, can play as a striker, can play as a winger. You can feel how comfortable Rashford is at Barcelona.
"As I've been telling you for weeks, the feeling internally at Barca is that Rashford really perfectly fits the structure they have on the tactical point of view at Barcelona. They're very happy with all the relationships Rashford has with his teammates as well.
"The reputation of Rashford is something that has to be clarified. He's really popular in the dressing room. At Barcelona, look at the image. After the game, Fermin Lopez scored a hat-trick, against Olympiacos. Marcus Rashford, who scored two goals, took the ball and went to Fermin, telling him, 'OK, take the ball, bro.'
"This kind of behaviour is something really appreciated by Barcelona. The performances, goals, assists, Rashford is doing very well. Very versatile player up front who can play in several positions. The behaviour, the attitude of Rashford is really appreciated by Barcelona.
"From what I understand, the feeling internally at Barca - board management, technical staff, the manager and those who work closely with Hansi Flick - is that if Rashford continues like this on every single point of view, delivering performances and perfect attitude, he will have very good chances to continue at the club beyond this season.
"The salary had to be reduced for Rashford in order to be a Barcelona player this summer, so he had to give up a part of his salary at Manchester United in order to make this deal possible with Barcelona, but that's not going to be a huge problem.
"That's going to be a point of discussion, of course, because at the end, salary negotiations are always important for all the players. Not now, not in October, not in November, not in December, so let's wait for that.
"The first mission for Rashford is to convince Barcelona, but the start has been very good, and so there is a concrete possibility to see Marcos continuing at Barca beyond the 2025/2026 season."
Man Utd keen on Stiller
Next up, Romano confirmed reports that Man Utd are still keeping tabs on Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller.
"I'm always receiving many questions on Angelo Stiller. There was a report from Bild in the last few days on Man Utd tracking the player. Man Utd have always been following this player. Stiller is really appreciated internally at Man Utd.
"Last summer, we had some stories on Man Utd going on a mission to Germany, negotiating to sign Stiller as a surprise for the final weeks. No, Man Utd never started any negotiations for Stiller in August last summer. That was never a possibility, it was always impossible.
"Stiller was always going to stay at Stuttgart in the summer transfer window, especially in August. There was no chance to change the story in the final days of the window. But Stiller remains a player monitored by Man Utd. They are following him. They are closely monitoring his progress.
"Again, at the moment, there is no negotiation, no talks. But Ruben Amorim wants an important midfielder for Man Utd in 2026. We will see whether it's going to be January, if it's possible, or a summer transfer window. Stiller is one of the players being monitored.
"Don't forget about [Carlos] Baleba, don't forget about other profiles. Man Utd are tracking midfielders. Stiller is an interesting player for Man Utd. Stiller is a very respectful player, German, so he didn't want to create any problem with Stuttgart in the summer transfer window, and he's never going to be that kind of player, forcing moves, creating problems.
"That's not the attitude of Stiller. He's a very serious guy, in a very good relationship with everyone at Stuttgart. At the moment, we are not at the stage where we have to mention a negotiation, a discussion. There are several clubs keeping a close eye on him because he's a very interesting one, very good player with potential to become even better."
Huge Saudi offer for Santos
Lastly, Romano confirmed that Chelsea received a massive offer from Saudi side Al-Qadsiah for Andrey Santos in the summer.
"Chelsea decided to keep the player despite approaches from European giants and also from Saudi. I can tell you that the Saudi club that tried to sign Andrey Santos in the final weeks of the summer transfer window was Al-Qadsiah. They are doing very well in Saudi. Al-Qadsiah tried to approach Chelsea for Santos.
"They were ready to offer to the player three times the salary he's earning right now at Chelsea. So that was a crazy proposal for the player. But when they went to Chelsea, even prepared to pay over, from what I understand, over €55m, €60m for Santos, Chelsea in August said, 'no, we trust the player, he's staying with us.'
"That's what happened with Santos. The player is now an important part of the rotations for Enzo Maresca. Of course, he is still learning, still very young, still developing. Chelsea trust this player, and I think to show your trust, there is no better way than rejecting that kind of huge proposal."
