Fabrizio Romano reveals Man Utd can re-sign flop for €85m
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United can re-sign Rasmus Hojlund from Napoli in 2027.
Hojlund joined Napoli from United this summer on loan for €5 million with an obligation to buy for a further €45m.
But Romano has revealed on his YouTube channel that Hojlund's Napoli contract includes a minimum fee release clause of €85m.
That clause comes into effect in the summer of 2027 and is payable over three years.
This means if Hojlund hits it off in the next two seasons in Serie A, United could decide to try and bring back Hojlund to Old Trafford.
Hojlund to Napoli
Man Utd also have a five per cent sell-on clause in Hojlund's deal.
Hojlund signed a five year contract until 2030 with the option of a further year.
Napoli decided to move for Hojlund after Romelu Lukaku suffered a long-term injury that will keep him out until close to Christmas.
AC Milan had been favourites for Hojlund but Napoli moved in to close the deal.
Hojlund was no longer in manager Ruben Amorim's plans for the coming season and had not played a minute this campaign.
Man Utd signed Hojlund in the summer of 2023 from Atalanta for €75 million plus €10m in add-ons.
The 22-year-old struggled badly, failing to score a single Premier League goal before Christmas in his first season.
Despite picking up in the second half of the campaign, he was a disaster in his second season.
Hojlund scored just four Premier League goals all season and United gave up on the striker.
