Gianluigi Donnarumma has all but confirmed his departure from PSG amid interest from Manchester United and Manchester City.

The Italian shot-stopper is being forced out of the French capital as he has refused to extend his expiring contract. Donnarumma would be a free agent next summer, so PSG are pushing for him to leave now to generate a fee.

Despite his stunning exploits for the treble-winners, PSG have made it clear to Donnarumma that he is no longer a part of their project, with new signing Lucas Chevalier now the new No.1.

Donnarumma has been omitted from PSG's squad for Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup clash with Tottenham, confirming that there is no way back for the 26-year-old. He is fully expected to leave PSG already this summer.

Man Utd hold a concrete interest in Donnarumma, but it is deemed a difficult deal for the Red Devils. This has allowed Man City to steal a march on their rivals, and they are actively exploring a move for the shot-stopper.

Donnarumma confirms PSG exit

Donnarumma has now taken to social media to all but confirm that he will leave PSG this summer, issuing an emotional statement in which he describes himself as 'disappointed and disheartened.'

"From the first day I arrived, I gave everything - on and off the pitch - to earn my place and defend the goal of Paris Saint-Germain. Unfortunately, someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group and contribute to the team's success. I am disappointed and disheartened.

"I hope to have the opportunity to look the fans at the Parc des Princes in the eyes one more time and say goodbye as it should be done. If that doesn't happen, I want you to know that your support and affection mean the world to me, and I will never forget it.

"I will always carry with me the memory of all the emotions, the magical nights, and of you, who made me feel at home. To my teammates - my second family - thank you for every battle, every laugh, every moment we shared. You will always be my brothers.

"Playing for this club and living in this city has been an immense honour. Thank you Paris."
