Everton face Grealish THREAT: €26m deal agreed as club out for 'revenge'
Napoli could make another attempt at signing Man City outcast and Everton target Jack Grealish after selling Giacomo Raspadori, according to Italian media.
The England international remains one to watch in the final weeks of the window. Grealish finds himself firmly on the periphery of Pep Guardiola's squad, and he did not even travel with Man City to Sicily for their friendly with City Football Group affiliate Palermo.
Everton have been exploring a move in recent days, but this deal is very difficult for the Toffees. Grealish is on a huge salary, and Man City want to sell him permanently. The Merseyside club, on the other hand, are looking to bring him in on an initial loan.
Serie A giants Napoli also looked into the feasibility of signing Grealish earlier this summer, but they came to the same conclusion: his wage is simply too large to justify signing him.
However, the Italian champions - and particularly their fans - still dream of a move for the 29-year-old. Despite signing Noa Lang from PSV, Antonio Conte remains keen to add a marquee winger before the window shuts.
Napoli back at the table for Grealish?
Gazzetta dello Sport has outlined Napoli's plans for the remainder of the window, and states that Grealish still occupies a prominent place in the club's thinking. The concerns over his salary have not disappeared, but Napoli's finances have just been boosted.
A €26 million package has been agreed with Atletico Madrid for Giacomo Raspadori, which only increases the urgency to add another attacker to Conte's squad. Indeed, Napoli feel that there is still plenty of business to be done this summer.
The Serie A giants have also reopened talks with AC Milan for midfielder Yunus Musah. The American favours a move to Naples over Nottingham, which Conte and company believe is a nice bit of revenge on Forest after they hijacked a deal for winger Dan Ndoye.
Napoli are also set to add Spanish full-backs Miguel Gutierrez and Juanlu. As for Grealish, if no deal can be struck for him, they could pivot to Liverpool wantaway Federico Chiesa.
