Chelsea to complete '13 deals in 12 days' as Romano drops bombshell update
Chelsea are reportedly aiming to complete 13 deals during the final 12 days of the summer transfer window as they look to perfect the squad at Enzo Maresca’s disposal.
The Blues have already been extremely active in the market so far this summer, but they are set to be involved in non-stop negotiations until the end of Transfer Deadline Day on 1 September.
That is because the club want to sign, sell or loan an additional 13 players in just 12 days, according to BBC Sport.
On the incoming front, Chelsea are determined to finalise the arrivals of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho and RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons in order to bolster the attacking roster at Stamford Bridge.
However, the Blues will be unable to sign the pair unless they sell both Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku - who are currently in talks to leave west London after being told to find a new club.
Tyrique George is also negotiating an exit, either permanently or on loan, while Aaron Anselmino is set to be loaned out for the duration of the 2025-26 season.
In addition, Chelsea are desperate to sell the seven current members of their ‘Bomb Squad’ on permanent deals - namely Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Alex Matos, Alfie Gilchrist and David Datro Fofana.
Chelsea double deal
Football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea are close to finalising a double deal with Borussia Dortmund
He posted on X: “Borussia Dortmund are now in advanced talks with Chelsea to sign Carney Chukwuemeka on permanent deal from Chelsea.
“CFC always requested permanent and the deal is advancing. Borussia Dortmund also want Aaron Anselmino on loan.”
Romano added: “Aaron Anselmino already said yes to Borussia Dortmund loan, Carney Chukwuemeka strongly wants BVB. Chelsea informed Dortmund that Aaron Anselmino loan will only be possible if Chukwuemeka deal is permanent.”
