Who are the most expensive transfers of the summer?
Florian Wirtz is the most expensive signing of the 2025 summer transfer window so far, courtesy of his €125 million move from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool.
The Germany international established himself as one of the world’s best players during his time at the BayArena and he has left the club having registered 122 goal contributions in 197 first-team appearances.
The second-most expensive signing this summer is Matheus Cunha. The Brazil forward joined Manchester United for €74.2m after Ruben Amorim’s side triggered the release clause included in his Wolverhampton Wanderers contract.
In third place is Joao Pedro. Chelsea raided Brighton & Hove Albion once again by purchasing Pedro for a whopping fee of €63.7m on 2 July. He is expected to compete with Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson for a starting berth under Enzo Maresca.
Meanwhile, Dean Huijsen is the fourth-most expensive signing of the summer thanks to his €62.5m transfer from Bournemouth to Real Madrid. The Spain defender was wanted by the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, however he opted to complete a dream move to Los Blancos instead.
Tijjani Reijnders is fifth on the list after joining Manchester City from AC Milan for €55m, while Milos Kerkez is sixth after completing a blockbuster €46.9m move from Bournemouth to Liverpool.
Alex Baena (Villarreal to Atletico Madrid) and Franco Mastantuono (River Plate to Real Madrid) have both moved clubs for €45m, and they are narrowly ahead of Jeremie Frimpong and Jean-Clair Todibo, who joined the Premier League for €40m.
The 11th-biggest deal of the 2025 summer transfer window so far is Rayan Ait-Nouri’s €36.8m move from Wolves to Man City, while Rayan Cherki, Liam Delap, Mathys Tel, Jarell Quansah, Charalampos Kostoulas and Estevao Willian have all moved clubs for a similar transfer fee.
Habib Diarra, Jobe Bellingham and Nico Gonzalez round out the top 20 most expensive signings of the 2025 summer transfer window so far.
