Gyokeres to join Arsenal

Arsenal have been pursuing a move for Viktor Gyokeres since last summer and they are now on the verge of finalising a deal with Sporting CP, as confirmed by Romano.

The transfer news expert told his YouTube channel: “Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal - the ‘here we go’ is expected very soon. It could be a matter of hours and a maximum of days. Arsenal are getting really, really close to signing Gyokeres.

“It’s a big story and a big move. Arsenal have been looking for a striker for a long time, but now we are almost there in this race to find a new number nine.

“Gyokeres looks to be the man. In the last 24/48 hours, in secret in Portugal, Arsenal have been advancing in conversations with Sporting.”

Romano added: “Gyokeres was the one pushing in this direction. Despite the war between Gyokeres’ camp and the Sporting president, the player’s stance was very clear. Gyokeres told Sporting that he only wants to go to Arsenal and that he will not show up to pre-season training next week.

“There is an agreement between Gyokeres’ agents and Arsenal. The contract is ready, it’s a long-term deal, the salary is agreed and Gyokeres has accepted every condition offered by Arsenal.

“Sporting insist to have a total package of €80 million, while Arsenal are close to that but still not there. But there will be more conversations to get the deal done.”

Noni Madueke agreement

Arsenal are also eager to sign Chelsea winger Noni Madueke and Romano has revealed that an agreement has been reached with the England international. A fee has not yet been agreed with Chelsea, however.

“Arsenal are not giving up on wingers,” Romano said. “Arsenal keep working on conversations with the agents of Eberechi Eze, but there’s still no club-to-club contact with Crystal Palace.

“Arsenal are also preparing an opening bid for Noni Madueke. They are ready to make a proposal to Chelsea. The valuation between the two clubs is quite different and there’s still no contact between the clubs.

“I can confirm that Arsenal have an agreement with Madueke on a five-year contract. Everything is okay for the player and Arsenal. But, for now, the most important part is club-to-club contact.

“Madueke is open to moving to Arsenal. The story could develop in the next few days.”

Kudus wants Tottenham transfer

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, are looking to sign West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus, who is determined to join the club, despite interest from Chelsea.

“Tottenham made a first proposal to West Ham, but it was rejected because West Ham don’t want to accept around £50m,” Romano admitted.

“But, Tottenham are expected to bid again for Kudus, in the next few days they want to attack again. Thomas Frank has approved Kudus as a top and crucial target. They are prepared to advance and push.

“My understanding is that Kudus wants to go to Tottenham, he has given his total priority to Tottenham and he is not negotiating with other clubs because his intention is to go to Tottenham.

“He has an agreement with Tottenham, personal terms are not an issue and Kudus is pushing to make the move.”
