Rodrygo: Ranking Real Madrid star’s FIVE transfer option as deal ‘90%’ likely

Rodrygo may just emerge as the most expensive player of the summer transfer window, with Real Madrid seeking €100 million for the young Brazil star.
Despite this lavish price tag, there is no shortage of suitors for the 24-year-old, who is reportedly growing increasingly unhappy at the Bernabeu.
Rodrygo has “90%” decided to leave Real Madrid this summer, according to TBR Football, while AS reports that there are five principle teams chasing his signature. But who are they, and which side is best placed to offer the former Santos youngster the best opportunity to rediscover a spark that has been lost this season?
Who wants to sign Rodrygo?
The five teams that want to sign Rodrygo are:
- Arsenal
- Liverpool
- Manchester City
- Manchester United
- PSG
SciSports’ Career Advice tool has ranked these clubs based upon a variety of factors, including potential development, playing time, style and formation. Each is given a Club Fit score out of 100, with a higher score being best.
Manchester City come out as Rodrygo’s poorest option from these five teams, with Pep Guardiola’s side given a score of 72. While this is still a reasonable mark, he would lack playing time at the Etihad Stadium, where the formation would also fail to get the best out of him.
Manchester United also score 72. Ruben Amorim’s outfit score well in terms of playing time but badly when it comes to development and formation.
Coming in with 73 is Liverpool. The Anfield side offer him a more balanced approach, given four stars for development but still a relatively disappointing two stars for playing time. Again, formation is an issue.
Rodrygo's best transfer options
Rank | Team | Club Fit |
---|---|---|
1 | PSG | 76 |
2 | Arsenal | 74 |
3 | Liverpool | 73 |
4 | Manchester United | 72 |
5 | Manchester City | 72 |
The best of the Premier League teams are Arsenal. The Gunners scored 74, with development and playing time both coming in at three stars. Mikel Arteta’s men are a little worse off in terms of playing style with four stars and, like all their rivals, get just one star in terms of formation.
PSG come out on top, according to SciSports’ analysis, but with a score of 76, their advantage over the Premier League teams is not overwhelming. Rodrygo is forecast to develop worse at Parc des Princes than, for example, Arsenal, Liverpool or City, but a combination of playing time and style give Luis Enrique’s side the edge.
