Man Utd offer 'fat salary' to win race for €74m Premier League superstar

Manchester United are set to beat Newcastle United to the signing of Matheus Cunha, largely due to the fact they are offering the Wolverhampton Wanderers star a “fatter salary.”
The 25-year-old is expected to leave Molineux for Old Trafford this summer, with Ruben Amorim’s side set to trigger the €74 million (£62.5m) release clause included in his current Wolves contract.
Cunha now appears almost guaranteed to become a Man Utd player next season and he will likely displace Alejandro Garnacho in Amorim’s preferred starting XI upon his arrival.
The Brazilian has scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 30 Premier League games so far this season and he is seen as a player capable of helping Man Utd climb back towards the upper echelons of the English top flight.
Arsenal and Newcastle have also been linked with a move for the former Atletico Madrid star in recent months, although Man Utd are set to win the race for his signature as they are offering a “fatter salary” than Eddie Howe’s side, according to The Daily Mail.
Newcastle are reportedly interested in the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Jacob Ramsey, Liam Delap and Benjamin Sesko after missing out on Cunha, while The Daily Mail report that Aston Villa are eyeing a potential summer move for Magpies winger Harvey Barnes.

Matheus Cunha to join Man Utd?
Cunha is expected to be deployed as an attacking midfielder in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system and Man Utd are set to purchase a new centre forward this summer in order to play alongside the Brazilian.
Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen, Moise Kean, Hugo Ekitike and the aforementioned Delap are all on the Red Devils’ radar ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, although Man Utd may need to win the Europa League final in order to land their top targets.
