Liverpool 'in contact' with €60m Chelsea superstar

Liverpool have made initial contact with Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku as they eye a possible move this summer, according to reports in France.
The 27-year-old has endured a torrid spell at Stamford Bridge and he is widely expected to leave the club for pastures new during the 2025 summer transfer window.
Nkunku has only started 11 Premier League matches since his arrival from RB Leipzig for €60 million in 2023, due to fitness and form issues, and Chelsea are determined to offload him in order to fund their pursuit of a new centre forward.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike are all on the Blues’ radar, but they may need to shift Nkunku off their wage bill before they are able to finalise a deal for a new striker.
Christopher Nkunku to leave Chelsea
Nkunku was tipped to join Bayern Munich in January and Vincent Kompany’s side reportedly remain interested in a possible transfer, although they appear to be prioritising their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen superstar Florian Wirtz as things stand.
However, Foot Mercato have confirmed that Nkunku will leave Chelsea this summer, with Bayern and Newcastle United among the clubs “informed” on the conditions of a potential deal.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have reportedly already made contact with the 27-year-old as they look to bolster the attacking options at Arne Slot’s disposal this summer.
Nkunku has scored 17 goals in 56 appearances for Chelsea, although only six of those have come in the Premier League and five have been scored en route to the Europa Conference League final this term.
The former Paris Saint-Germain academy star, who boasts an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €51.7m, still has four years remaining on his current contract at Chelsea, but the Blues are eager to offload him this summer.
