Chelsea are reportedly eager to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer as they look to bolster the attacking options available to Enzo Maresca next campaign.

The Blues are actively chasing a new left winger and they have added Eze to their transfer wish-list following his immense form under Oliver Glasner over the past 18 months.

That is according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, who claim that Chelsea will go head-to-head with Manchester City in the race to acquire the Englishman’s signature ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Last year, The Daily Mail reported that Eze’s current deal at Palace includes a €80 million release clause, although Fichajes state it instead stands at a slightly reduced rate of €70m.

Chelsea and Man City are both interested in triggering this release clause during the 2025 summer transfer window, with Eze viewed as a player capable of making an instant impact by the two English giants.

The England international has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions so far this season, including the winner during Crystal Palace’s 1-0 victory over Man City in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Eze’s current contract at Selhurst Park is due to expire in 2027, but he is eager to leave the club this summer in order to “take a leap forward in his career,” as per Fichajes.

Chelsea chase significant summer reinforcements

In addition to Eze, Chelsea have also identified a number of alternative transfer targets ahead of the summer window, including Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens, Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams.

Furthermore, Maresca’s side are expected to bring a new centre forward to the club as they look to establish themselves as contenders for the Premier League title next season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have turned their attention to agreeing a deal for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato following confirmation of Dean Huijsen’s imminent move to Real Madrid.
