Romano CONFIRMS Chelsea transfer plan that will revive Cole Palmer

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea are interested in Cole Palmer's close friend Morgan Rogers.
The Aston Villa attacker has emerged as one of the Premier League's most exciting talents since joining the Birmingham club from Middlesbrough in the winter of 2024.

Rogers has notched a hugely impressive 14 goals and 13 assists so far this term, and this exceptional form, which has seen him rewarded with his first England caps, has not gone unnoticed by Aston Villa's Premier League rivals.
Already several weeks ago, transfer insider David Ornstein revealed that Rogers had begun generating high-profile interest, although he refrained from naming specific clubs.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Chelsea are among his suitors, and Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the Blues have a genuine interest in the versatile attacker.

Chelsea want Rogers
Although Rogers has primarily played as a No.10 this season, which is a position Chelsea are already overstocked in, the Three Lions starlet is also capable of playing on either wing, and this is surely what has attracted the attention of the West London club.
Moreover, Rogers is a close friend of Blues star Cole Palmer, with whom he rose through the ranks of Man City's academy and who has since popularised his 'cold' celebration.

Palmer has been in a real form slump in recent months, and Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca believes that there are mental rather than tactical reasons for this. Perhaps a reunion with his good friend could give Palmer a much-needed lift.
However, signing Rogers won't be easy this summer. In addition to Chelsea, Liverpool are also very keen on the 22-year-old, while Aston Villa have no intention of entertaining a potential sale.
"Liverpool have also sent their scouts several times to follow Rogers’ progress at Villa, considering him as an ideal player for the future,” Romano told GIVEMESPORT. “But both Chelsea and Liverpool consider the deal as ‘difficult’ for this summer, as Aston Villa have no plans to let Rogers leave.
"He’s seen as a crucial part of Unai Emery’s project and the club have already made a big profit by selling Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr in January, so an exit for Rogers is considered as ‘complicated’ by those close to Liverpool."
