The Gunners are in the market for wide reinforcements this summer and are exploring all available options. In recent weeks, Rodrygo has surprisingly emerged as just such an option.

The Real Madrid superstar is reportedly being 'forced out' of the Spanish capital, with Los Blancos unhappy about the performance levels he showed prior to his recent injury.

On Tuesday, Ben Jacobs confirmed reports from Spain that the 15-time European champions are willing to listen to offers for the 24-year-old this summer and to potentially cash in on him to fund their incoming business.

Jacobs described Rodrygo as a potential 'market opportunity' and corroborated that Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool were all keeping tabs on the Brazil international's situation.

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg now reports that Arsenal have begun actively exploring a move for Rodrygo. The journalist states that initial talks have already taken place.

Whether a move is feasible still remains to be seen. Plettenberg acknowledges that this transfer operation will be 'difficult,' while Jacobs claimed on Tuesday that it could take as much as €100 million to sign him.

Arsenal also have other wingers on their shortlist, chief among them Nico Williams. The Athletic Club star has been a priority target for the Gunners for some time, although there is still uncertainty over whether he is willing to leave his boyhood club.

Despite Williams' release clause being worth around half of Rodrygo's touted €100m price, signing him won't be straightforward either. Taxes, commissions and his hefty wages make him a hugely expensive player.

The likes of Antoine Semenyo, Bryan Mbeumo and Leroy Sane have also been associated with a move to Arsenal. However, signing Rodrygo would certainly be a statement of intent from the North London giants.
