Fabrizio Romano drops Gabriel Magalhaes bomb and announces 'it’s OVER' for Brazilian Arsenal star

Fabrizio Romano has published a major update on the situation of Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.
The centre-back is one of a number of Gunners who are in discussions over a new deal, with Mikel Arteta eager that his rock-solid relationship with William Saliba in the heart of defence of the Emirates side is not broken up.
Gabriel played 42 matches for Arsenal last season and it appears that the former Lille defender has many more to come with Arteta’s men as Romano has announced that the 27-year-old is closing in on a new contract.
Taking to X, he reports: “Arsenal are on the verge of reaching an agreement with Gabriel Magalhaes over long term deal. Negotiations at advanced stages, as the BBC reports.
“I understand the contract will be until 2030.”
Gabriel’s current deal at Arsenal expires in 2027 while the player has an Estimated Transfer Value of €75.5 million, which sees him ranked as the seventh-most-valuable defender in the world. Saliba is one of the few players above him.

Arsenal star’s departure confirmed
While Gabriel’s future remains at Arsenal, that of compatriot Marquinhos certainly does not.
Romano has made an announcement regarding the future of the winger, who arrived at the club from Sao Paulo in 2022.
“It’s over between Arsenal and Marquinhos as Brazilian winger joins Cruzeiro on permanent deal until 2028,” he tweeted.
The 22-year-old had failed to make any kind of impression under Arteta, making just six appearances in total for the Gunners’ first team following a transfer worth an estimated €3.3 million.
Loan moves to Norwich and Nantes were unable to revive his career and he moved back to Brazil first with Fluminense and then with Cruzeiro, who he has now joined on a full-time basis.
There is no indication how much Arsenal will receive by way of a transfer fee for Marquinhos.
