Ornstein drops HUGE Alexander Isak to Arsenal update

Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak is reportedly set to snub interest from Arsenal in order to remain at the club after they secured their place in next season’s Champions League.
The Magpies suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Everton in their final Premier League fixture of the season on Sunday, but their spot in Europe’s elite club competition for 2025-26 was confirmed thanks to Aston Villa’s loss to Manchester United and Chelsea’s win over Nottingham Forest.
Eddie Howe’s side are set to strengthen a number of positions during the upcoming summer transfer window and landing a new centre forward has been identified as a key priority, amid interest in the likes of Joao Pedro and Benjamin Sesko.
However, the Magpies’ pursuit of a new striker is linked to Callum Wilson’s imminent exit, with Isak set to remain at St James’ Park for at least another season.
That is according to transfer expert David Ornstein, who spoke to NBC Sports about the impact that Champions League qualification will have on their summer business.
“For them, it's not so much about the PSR, it's more about their stature, and the Saudi-led ownership ambitions to really kick on,” Ornstein revealed.
“Also, keeping somebody like Alexander Isak. If Newcastle reached the Champions League today, he is going nowhere. If they don't, I think some suitors may think there's a glimmer, a slight chance that they could test the waters on that front.
“Newcastle's perspective is that he's not for sale at any price.”

Alexander Isak to stay at Newcastle
With Newcastle sealing a place in the 2025-26 Champions League on Sunday afternoon, it appears as though Isak will remain at the club, despite significant interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool.
The Sweden star still has three years remaining on his current contract at St James’ Park, and the Magpies are determined to retain his services as they look to establish themselves as Champions League regulars moving forward.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed his best ever season in a Newcastle shirt, scoring 27 goals and providing six assists in 42 appearances across all competitions, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) now stands at a career high of €120.3 million.
With Isak set to stay at Newcastle, Arsenal are expected to prioritise a move for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres as Mikel Arteta looks to bring a new centre forward to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are eyeing a possible move for either Julian Alvarez (Atletico Madrid) or the aforementioned Pedro (Brighton & Hove Albion).
