Chelsea have finally reached an agreement on a major deal which could have significant implications on their summer transfer window.

The Blues have spent nearly €1.5 billion on players since the takeover of Todd Boehly and Clearlake in 2022, with a number of sponsorship and accounting deals helping them avoid any PSR infringements.

However, Chelsea have missed out on a large amount of revenue by not having a sponsor on the front of their shirts – an issue which they also encountered last season.

But the club announced that they have reached an agreement with Dubai-based development company DAMAC Properties to have their logo on the front of Chelsea’s shirts for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

No financial details have been revealed about the deal but the package involves DAMAC becoming Chelsea’s ‘official property development partner’ to launch ‘ultra modern residences’ in Dubai in partnership with the Blues.

The agreement means Chelsea and their women's team will have a shirt sponsor for the rest of the season, starting on Thursday against Djurgarden in the Europa Conference League, however the deal will not extend to the Club World Cup in June.

Chelsea still searching for summer shirt sponsor

Chelsea are believed to still be entertaining a ‘competitive’ process to find a long-term shirt sponsor that would also cover the summer’s Club World Cup.

The last deal Chelsea had for a front-of-shirt sponsor was with Infinite Athlete, who signed a one-year deal in 2023 for £40 million, giving some indication to the value that the Blues are seeking.

While the timing of Chelsea securing their new shirt sponsor is intriguing, the long-term partnership with DAMAC could give a significant revenue boost that would further enhance the club’s spending power during the summer.

Chelsea have already brokered controversial deals that have seen the club sell their women’s team to their own affiliate and also use the sale of on-site hotels as profit for PSR regulations, the legality of which are still being investigated by authorities.
