Man Utd ‘make contact’ with INFAMOUS agent over ‘dream’ move

Manchester United are attempting to conduct a transfer window in which there will be an overhaul of the squad, yet with a constrained budget, the Old Trafford side may have to make deals that they might not otherwise have considered.
One of those potential transfers could be the acquisition of Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who they endured prickly negotiations with in the summer of 2022 as they sought additional cover in the centre of the park.
It was a move that broke down amid what were reported as acrimonious talks with Rabiot’s agent, his mother Veronique.

David Ornstein hinted at the time that there was a sizeable gulf between the two parties.
“Man Utd reached a broad agreement with Juventus over a fee but were unable to do the same on personal terms for the 27-year-old midfielder,” he stated.
“The gap between their salary offer and his expectations mean the potential deal is not progressing as things stand.”

Veronique Rabiot's Man Utd run in
Known as a hard-nosed and uncompromising operator, Veronique demanded huge wages for her son that Man Utd were not prepared to pay.
As such Casemiro was signed from Real Madrid instead.
With the Brazil star now likely to leave in the summer, the Red Devils are reportedly talking to Veronique Rabiot once again to sound out the possibility of the France international midfielder, 29, moving to Old Trafford in the summer.
TeakTalk reports: “Rabiot’s dream remains the Premier League, he was very close to signing for Man Utd last summer and the French midfielder is still among the players appreciated by the Red Devils as a possible replacement for Sofyan Amrabat next season.
“In recent weeks there have been contacts with Veronique to explore the room of negotiation. On the Man Utd’s list, other names such as Joao Neves, who remains among the most preferred names, and Youssouf Fofana.”
Contract negotiations, though, are unlikely to be straightforward with Rabiot, although his status as a free agent should mean both parties are more willing to make compromises.
