Nottingham Forest attacker Morgan Gibbs-White has reportedly been identified as one of Newcastle United’s transfer priorities for the upcoming summer window.

The 24-year-old has shone since moving to the City Ground in 2022 and he has notched five goals and assists in 32 Premier League games this campaign.

In fact, his performances and statistics in 2023-24 are somewhat reminiscent of Jack Grealish’s final season at Aston Villa, before he joined Manchester City for €117.5 million.

Gibbs-White has been heavily linked with a summer move away from Forest, with Arsenal and Manchester United both emerging as possible destinations in recent weeks.

Tottenham Hotspur are also interested, despite the presence of both James Maddison and Dejan Kuluseveski as attacking midfield options.

Morgan Gibbs-White to Newcastle?

Having missed out on Maddison last summer, Newcastle have now turned their attention to Gibbs-White, according to The Mirror.

The Magpies are hoping to retain their key players this summer, amid the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, and Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes has been mentioned as one possible summer departure, with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain among his admirers.

If Guimaraes is sold to ease Newcastle’s financial worries, they could reportedly pursue a move for Gibbs-White this summer.

The Mirror have also reported that Gibbs-White’s Nottingham Forest team-mate Neco Williams is also of interest to Newcastle, along with Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe.

FootballTransfers understands that Smith Rowe pushed to stay at Arsenal in January, despite interest from multiple Premier League clubs, but his stance may change this summer. West Ham United and Aston Villa are among Newcastle’s competitors for the Englishman.

Smith Rowe, 23, has only started three league matches so far this season, with Mikel Arteta preferring both Jorginho and Kai Havertz next to Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard in the middle of the park.
