Guimaraes has emerged as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League at Newcastle, and is in understandably high demand.

Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all been credited with an interest in the Brazilian, who joined the Magpies from Lyon for €42.1 million from Lyon in January 2022.

That might have been above market value at the time, but he is now tagged at €54.2m by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, his performances at the heart of the Magpies' midfield winning plaudits far and wide.

But Guimaraes has settled in the North East, and is in no rush to leave.

What did Bruno G say?

"I have no thoughts of the future, the present holds 100 per cent of my attention," he told Globo Esporte. "I'm very focused on that, on maintaining this dream of the club qualifying for a European competition.

"I'm happy and I'm happy here. And that’s what I've dedicated myself to 100 per cent since I signed for the club."

Guimaraes has passed a century of appearances for Newcastle, although 31 of his 101 have come in this season's Premier League alone, the midfielder the most-used player after Fabian Schar following a raft of injuries.

"There are a lot of injuries, punishments for some players, surgeries for some of them," he continued. "It's the season I've been playing the most. I've only missed one match…

"I still think we can end it in the best possible way, by winning a place in the Conference League, or the Europa League, or maybe the Champions League, however difficult it may be.

"But I think we have to get the club into Europe again."
