Alexis Mac Allister: The Premier League’s Player of the Year?

The former Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder has become an integral player at Anfield and he has arguably been the signing of the season. Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Declan Rice are worthy competitors, but Mac Allister deserves a mention and his stock will rise even further if he helps Liverpool win just their second ever Premier League title.

Furthermore, he will likely be in the running to win the PFA Player of the Year award after a sensational first campaign at Anfield.

His close control and passing ability has elevated Liverpool’s ceiling to another level and he has been a vast upgrade on Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, both of whom left the club last summer.

Mac Allister was heralded as a bargain buy when Liverpool snatched him up for a measly initial fee of €42 million and while that figure will rise will add-on clauses, he has proven to be worth every penny with his performances this season.

With telling contributions in the final third combined with all-round excellence, Klopp has found his version of Ilkay Gundogan and it could help Liverpool to Premier League glory.
