Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen could yet seal a move to Turkey, according to a report.

The January transfer window may be closed for clubs in England, but sides in different parts of the world can still do business. Turkey is one of those and Istanbul giants Galatasaray have their sights reportedly set on Christian Eriksen.

Turkish clubs can still do business until February 9th, meaning that there could yet be some late departures from the Premier League. If FotoMac is to be believed, Man Utd's Eriksen could be among the England-based stars to leave.

The Dane has lost his place in Erik ten Hag's side due to the emergence of young Kobbie Mainoo, who has been nothing short of brilliant since breaking into the team. Whether Eriksen would be open to leaving Old Trafford is not known, but negotiations over a move "are continuing in great secrecy."

Eriksen to Galatasaray?

The above-mentioned report asserts that Gala are working on a loan deal with an option to buy the 31-year-old in the summer in a bid to beef up their midfield for their title defence. The Turkish club, who won their first Super Lig title in several years last season, currently share top spot with bitter rivals Fenerbahce but boast an inferior goal difference.

If Man Utd were to accept Galatasaray's offer, Eriksen would immediately jet off to Istanbul. If a deal can't be struck now, it is claimed that there will be a gentleman's agreement for a summer transfer. The former Spurs man is still under contract until 2025, so he will command a transfer fee in the event of a departure.

Gala certainly have money to spend, having made a whopping €35 million from sales in January, with Sacha Boey's move to Bayern alone flushing €30m into their coffers. Eriksen has played 19 games this term, notching a goal and two assists. The Dane played 45 minutes when Gala beat Man Utd on home soil in the Champions League in October.
