Liverpool are not interested in signing Joao Palhinha, Piero Hincapie or Andre during the January transfer window, despite reports to the contrary.

That is according to CBS’ Ben Jacobs, who has reported that Jurgen Klopp’s side are not actively pursuing the aforementioned names.

The Reds are currently top of the Premier League table after a fantastic start to the 2023-24 campaign, but will be without Mohamed Salah for a prolonged period of time due to his involvement with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite his absence, Liverpool aren’t looking to add many new faces to their first-team squad in January and a midfielder is unlikely to join following their summer spending spree.

Andre and Palhinha have both been linked with an Anfield switch, but Jacobs has confirmed that Liverpool won’t sign either player. Klopp added Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo to his midfield roster in the summer, while Hincapie has also been ruled out.

Liverpool don’t want Andre or Joao Palhinha in January

Liverpool’s lack of interest in Andre and Palhinha dates back several months, with FootballTransfers previously reporting that Klopp has moved on from both players.

We understand that Liverpool have expressed zero interest in Palhinha since the summer transfer window slammed shut, while speculation surrounding a move away in January appears to have stemmed from the player’s side.

The Portuguese midfielder now looks set to stay at Craven Cottage until this summer at the very least.

Fluminense star Andre has been touted as his possible replacement at Fulham, but we understand that Fulham are now reluctant to meet the Brazilian’s £25 million asking price.

Marco Silva’s side also feel that signing a midfielder in January may not be necessary due to the fact Palhinha is set to stay.

Liverpool had moved on from Andre back in November, and signing a midfielder doesn't appear a priority in January.
