Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah continues to be linked with a sensational move Saudi Arabia, and now the Pro League's transfer chief Michael Emenalo has had his say.

Liverpool rejected a £150 million offer from Al-Ittihad in the summer, and the 'Egyptian King' has rarely looked happier at Anfield, scoring 14 goals and assisting eight more in the first half of the season.

But he is the last of Liverpool's fabled front three - of Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino - to still be at the club, and he turns 32 next June, with a Champions League and Premier League already under his belt.

It is understood the Saudi Pro League would like him to become the new face of their competition, be it in the January transfer window or next summer, but Emenalo, who helped sign Salah for Chelsea in 2014, is urging caution.

Liverpool have to push for deal

"… We understand that Mo's happy where he is at present and in a historic, wonderful club at Liverpool," the Nigerian told Sky Sports News. "We respect that very much and we don't want to come across as putting any pressure on him.

"But if there's any interest to do something, Mo Salah is a player that you want in your league, in any league. We respect Liverpool and in this scenario, the initiative to do anything won't come from us. There has to be an aligned interest from all parties involved."

It seems unlikely Liverpool will push for a sale anytime soon, with Salah signing a new three year contract last June and his value in attacking output likely increasingly dwarfing a transfer fee he might fetch the older he gets.

Liverpool have cashed in on players to Saudi Arabia of late, however, with Fabinho and Jordan Henderson joining Al-Ittihad and Al-Ettifaq respectively for significant fees. Firmino joined Al-Ahli on a free.
