Liverpool are leading Chelsea and Barcelona in the race to sign Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo, according to TEAMtalk.

The youngster has caught the eye with Corinthians, having already made 23 senior appearances at the age 18.

Given his position on the pitch, it comes as no surprise to see that Liverpool and Barcelona are interested in his services.

Both clubs are desperate to add a holding midfielder to their ranks, with the Reds also heavily linked with fellow Brazilian Andre, who is at Fluminense.

Meanwhile, the Blaugrana are still in the market for a long-term replacement for club legend Sergio Busquets, who departed for Lionel Messi's Inter Miami in the summer.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are seemingly continuing with their plan to sign the best youngsters from around the world, with little to no regard of positional need.

How much will Moscardo cost?

Chelsea had a €25 million bid rejected for Moscardo in the summer, although a big reason for that was the timing.

Corinthians were unwilling to sell the player midway through their league campaign.

According to reports, a fee in the region of €35m should be enough to win the race, with Liverpool looking the most likely to stump up the money.

Chelsea have more pressing concerns, such as a striker, while Barcelona are in a well-documented financial predicament.
