The England international, who is his country’s all-time record goal-scorer, signed a four-year deal at Bayern, with Tottenham sanctioning a sale rather than risk losing him for free in 2024, when his contract would’ve expired.

Levy has now admitted that Kane could return to north London via a buy-back clause included in his Bayern contract.

On Tuesday, the Spurs chairman attended a fans forum with current manager Ange Postecoglou, captain Son Heung-min, women’s head coach Robert Vilahamn and star striker Bethany England. During the event, Levy was questioned about Kane and he replied: “There is a buy-back clause.”

Kane himself had raised the possibility of returning to Spurs in the future in a goodbye video recorded for the Tottenham supporters. In the video, the 30-year-old said: “It’s not a goodbye, because you never know how things pan out in the future... I’ll see you soon.”

Kane to return to Tottenham?

Kane is currently second on the list of the all-time record goal-scorers in the Premier League, and a return to Spurs would provide the Englishman with the opportunity to perhaps break Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals.

He has already scored four goals and provided one assist in his opening four Bundesliga games for Bayern as Tuchel’s side sit second in the German top flight table.

As for Tottenham, they have started life without Kane in fantastic fashion. The north London club are second in the Premier League having picked up 13 points in their opening five matches.
