Newcastle move for unwanted Arsenal and Chelsea stars

Newcastle are set to look to Arsenal or Chelsea to reinforce the left side of their defence, with Eddie Howe’s side eyeing up transfers for Kieran Tierney or Marc Cucurella before the end of the summer window.
The Magpies sit at the top of the Premier League table after the first round of matches, having impressed in a 5-1 home win over Aston Villa, a match in which new signing Sandro Tonali took centre stage.
Howe, though, wants to reinforce his side and is looking to the London giants for options on the left flank, according to a report in The Telegraph.

Tierney has dropped to Mikel Arteta’s third-choice left-back following the arrival of Jurrien Timber from Ajax this summer. Oleksandr Zinchenko was already ahead of him in the pecking order.
This potentially means that the Scotland international is up for sale, although an injury to Timber on the opening day of the season has put that in some doubt.

Cucurella, meanwhile, is the most expensive left-back in history thanks to the €73.5 million move he made to Chelsea from Brighton last summer. The Spaniard, however, has failed to sufficiently impress Pochettino, who will start Ben Chilwell on the left of his defence, with Levi Colwill starting in central defence against Liverpool on Sunday.
Cucurella’s opportunities to impress, therefore, look like they will be scant.
What are Newcastle offering Arsenal and Chelsea?
Newcastle are ready to go to Arsenal and Chelsea and ask about the possibility of signing Tierney and Cucurella on loan. The Telegraph reports that both are interested in a move.
Tierney looks the likelier to make the move. Arsenal are reportedly eager to “very keen” on offloading the Scotland star but would prefer a permanent deal. The Gunners, however, might be willing to defer the player’s transfer fee for 12 months to allow Newcastle to negotiate their Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues, which have prevented their Saudi owners from making huge dents in the transfer market.
Chelsea are thought to be more difficult to deal with, but following a €133m (£115m) move for Moises Caicedo are under pressure to sell.
