But UK-based reports have stated that he is leaning towards remaining in the Premier League, in a bid to achieve his legacy as being the all-time Premier League goalscorer.

And former Liverpool man Owen has given his thoughts on the matter, saying that a move to Germany’s biggest club would be a mistake.

He tweeted on Thursday: “I know Bayern are a massive club and I have huge respect for them but if I were Kane I’d stay put. There’s no great achievement in winning a trophy with them. Real Madrid I would understand. Or one or two top Premier League clubs for that matter. Becoming the all-time Premier League top goal scorer [for] Spurs is a bigger achievement than winning the league in a country dominated by one team.”

The words have not gone down too well with fans online, plenty of whom highlighted what Owen said on the matter in 2021.

Back then, the TNT Sports pundit stated that: “You can’t blame Kane for wanting a new challenge. It’s a short career and Spurs are miles off winning things at present. It was now or never. He’s shown great loyalty but it would be a huge shame if he finished his career with no medals to show for it.”
