There have been reports that the Ajax star would be happy to join Chelsea, and though this is true, we understand that if it became a toss-up between the two clubs, he would rather head to north London.

The player is looking for a way out this window despite Ajax’s best efforts to keep hold of him. Arsenal have the 22-year-old in mind but they can only action a move if they sell off some of their players, having spent a considerable amount already.

Kudus has also been linked to Manchester United, with Erik ten Hag seeing him as an alternative to Rasmus Hojlund.

Arsenal could expect up to £60m through player sales - the likes of Kieran Tierney and Falorin Balogun are thought to be moved on, though this will take time.

Netherlands legend Marco van Basten believes that the Ghanaian is better than Man Utd winger Antony, who was Kudus’ team-mate at Ajax before joining Man Utd.

Van Basten said: 'I find Mohammed Kudus a much better football player than Antony. Kudus has much better technique and he knows what he is doing. Antony may be faster, but Kudus is smarter and more technical.

“He is much more of a footballer, you can place him anywhere on the pitch, an all-rounder for the team. In fact, I like him much better than Antony. He's more fun to watch play.”

Kudus almost joined Everton last season but a move never transpired. Now he is linked with a move to various other clubs in the Premier League.
