Jorginho has admitted that Arsenal players are in the dark regarding the seemingly imminent transfers of Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber.

The Gunners managed to strike deals with the duo last week, parting with a British record fee of £105 million (€123m) to land West Ham captain Rice and spending £35m (€41m) to prise Timber away from Ajax. However, no announcements have as yet been made and Kai Havertz remains Arsenal's only official recruit.

This has started to worry supporters who fear that something may have gone awry. Now, Gunners midfielder Jorginho has revealed that he does not know either when an announcement will finally be made.

The former Chelsea man was answering questions on the social media app The Residency, which allows fans to chat with celebrities, including footballers, and he was inevitably asked about the seemingly imminent deals.

What did Jorginho say?

The Italian replied with "Good question. No idea," and laughing emojis when confronted with the question "When are Rice and Timber joining?" This response may fuel some fears, but there is no reason to worry, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer expert spoke about the delay on his YouTube channel on Wednesday and assured Gunners fans that the deals are still very much in place and that an announcement is only a matter of time.

"I saw some rumours again today [about the transfers falling through], but guys, I'm told that it's just a matter of an announcement, so let's wait and see when Arsenal will unveil their new signings. But this remains very clear: Arsenal have everything ready for those two deals."

Confirming the moves will take Arsenal's spending well beyond €200m this summer, continuing the trend of recent years of the Gunners splashing the cash to give Mikel Arteta the tools required to challenge for the Premier League.
