CONFIRMED: Man Utd receive updates in Kane and Hojlund pursuit
We understand the club’s all-time goalscorer will reveal whether he wishes to stay at the club for another season, while Spurs wish to tie him down to a fresh deal immediately. And we are told that if Kane is sold, the money made from his sale will go straight into the hands of the club’s next manager.
We have been informed that Spurs’ new boss will be handed around €100m as a budget plus whatever is made on player sales. Indeed, that amount could be more than doubled if Kane is sold, but sources have affirmed that Spurs want at least €150m for the top scorer, while there is a reluctance to sell to a Premier League rival.
Spurs are finding a new manager but the process has dragged on as there are several differing views at board level as to who should come in. The likes of Ange Postecoglou, Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter have been mentioned, but the process has been complicated by the board so far not finding a middle ground.
Meanwhile, Man Utd do have an interest in Kane, but there needs to be some clarity over Erik ten Hag’s budget for the window before a move can be sanctioned, with the takeover process dragging on.
Hojlund makes agency switch
Man Utd target Rasmus Hojlund has signed with SEG, a Holland-based agency that has dominated the Premier League over the last season or two. They became one of the go-to firms after overseeing Robin van Persie’s move to Arsenal in 2004. Pep Guardiola is on their books, having signed recently after his brother and agent joined. Ten Hag is a client, as is Cody Gakpo, who moved from PSV to Liverpool in January. Zidane Iqbal recently joined the firm, too.
Atalanta would rather a sale of Hojlund in 2024 as they attempt to get back into the Champions League next season. The attacker’s valuation may have doubled at this point too. It will take €65m or so to prise him away from Bergamo, but a lot is dependent on how hard the player and Man Utd push. Ten Hag has already held talks with the player, as well. And the switch of agency usually shows an intention from the player to make a switch. The Dutchman sees the attacker coming in alongside a marquee striker who could fit in straight away,
