AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window.

Lukaku will return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the month following a season-long loan at Milan's rivals, Inter.

The Belgian also spent two years with the Nerazzurri prior to his disappointing return to the Blues in 2021.

Now, AC Milan could make a 'sensational' move for the striker, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Rossoneri will have money to spend after the €70 million sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle.

With that, they are looking to find a strike partner for another former Chelsea forward, Olivier Giroud.

Lukaku to Milan?

Lukaku has made it abundantly clear that he does not see his future at Chelsea.

Indeed, even when he played for the west London club, he suggested that he would rather still be in Italy.

The Blues have accepted that he will leave in the coming weeks, but they are not going to let him go for cheap.

Having spent €115m on the 30-year-old almost two years ago, they want to see a decent amount of that back.

Chelsea have reportedly set an asking price of £40m, which Inter (Lukaku's first choice) are not willing to pay.

They are only looking for another loan deal, something the Blues are not willing to accept.

This paves the way for AC Milan to complete a deal for the striker that would not only benefit them, but be to the detriment of their fierce rivals.

Lukaku also has offers from Saudi Arabia but is not keen on a move unless a team meets his outrageous wage demands.
