Chelsea and Inter are set to meet to discuss up to four transfers, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues and the Nerazzurri are both in for a big summer of transfer business. Inter will look to capitalise on their renewed standing in the game following their impressive Champions League campaign, giving a seemingly unbeatable Manchester City side a good run for their money in the final.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will be busy for the exact opposite reason: they will try to rebuild their reputation after a dire season. The €600 million spending spree by American owner Todd Boehly was poorly executed and uncoordinated, leaving Chelsea with a bloated squad in desperate need of slimming down.

Indeed, the London club could look almost unrecognisable next year under new coach Mauricio Pochettino, but in order to achieve that, they will need a successful summer that must include the shipping off of scores of players. Not only that, but they also have several holes that they haven't yet filled despite their ridiculous recruitment last term.

Up to four players on the move

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the names of several players will be under discussion at this meeting. Inter are ready to take a few players off of Chelsea's books, but the Blues are also looking at a Milanese player with interest - and then there is the issue of Romelu Lukaku.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly keen on bringing Kalidou Koulibaly back to Serie A, claims Romano. Moreover, they are trying to complete the signing of defender/midfielder Trevoh Chalobah. Chelsea, meanwhile, are hoping to lure goalkeeper Andre Onana the other way.

Lukaku's future is also set to be discussed. The Belgian wants to stay in Milan, but Inter have already repeatedly stated that they don't intend on making his loan permanent - and his performance in the Champions League final will have only confirmed that this is the correct course of action.

But with Chelsea keen to get him out of Stamford Bridge, they could yet try to convince Inter that a deal - perhaps at a cut price or on loan - would be favourable for them; after all, Lukaku is far from a bad player despite his unfortunate final performance.
