Tottenham sources have joked that in order for Manchester United to obtain Harry Kane, Erik ten Hag may have to ‘murder’ Daniel Levy.

MEN released a report detailing a source who has worked with Levy who half-jokingly said the club would have to ‘kill him’ to sign the striker.

The club believe that Spurs will not sell Kane in the summer, though they have not given up entirely.

Man Utd are actively looking at other options now in the window after Levy indicated Kane will not be sold.

Kane is approaching the final year of his contract at Spurs and it is not clear yet whether he will look to push a move away.

His current side will not feature in European football if they end the Premier League season in eighth.

There are also issues around their manager’s position, which is yet to be filled.

They dismissed Antonio Conte earlier this year and it’s thought that they might Celtic coach Ange Postecoglou.

Kane and his brother and representative, Charlie, failed to unnerve Levy when he rejected a £100million offer from Manchester City in August 2021, before the club’s all-time goalscorer said he would continue there.

He stated at the time that he ‘wouldn't do anything to jeopardise the relationship I have with the fans’.

Of course, Spurs will face losing Kane on a free next year if they decide to keep him. But there is a chance that they manage to secure another deal for him.

Man Utd are also tracking Napoli goalscorer Victor Osimhen, Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani, and Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund. Goncalo Ramos at Benfica and Mohammed Kudus of Ajax are also liked.

Meanwhile, Evan Ferguson is on the radar, though the Irishman is set to remain at Brighton for at least one more season.
