Manchester United and Barcelona target Ruben Neves appeared to wave goodbye to Wolves fans after the 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday.

It is common practice for players to thank supporters after the final home match of the season, but everyone at the Molineux felt it was more meaningful with Neves.

The Portugal international has been rumoured to want to leave Wolves in the summer transfer window and it now looks as though he has played his last home game for them.

While he is settled at the Midlands club, Neves has a desire to play in the Champions League.

"Let’s see what’s going to happen. I always say the same thing – I truly love to be here, but I never hide that I want to play Champions League football,'' he told Sky Sports.

"In football, you need to go for your main goals and I think that will be a massive decision for me.

"But nothing has happened yet. If it was my last game here, I really enjoyed it and I’m grateful for all the people who worked with me over the six seasons."

The 26-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract so this summer could be the right time for Wolves to sell.

Neves to Man Utd?

While Neves had previously agreed personal terms with Barca, as Fabrizio Romano reports, he is no longer a priority for the club.

A move to Old Trafford could be more likely, which would benefit his settled family.

The Red Devils are looking to sign a midfielder in the summer and Neves has been on their shortlist for a while.

A deep-lying playmaker, he would be the perfect partner for Casemiro in the centre of the pitch.

Not to mention, United are far too reliant on Bruno Fernandes for chance creation, an issue that the signing of Neves would address.
