Erling Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta has dropped a major hint that the Norway international striker views Real Madrid as his “dream” move.

Haaland completed a blockbuster transfer to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022 and has set about ripping up goal scoring records in the Premier League.

But while he performs individually to an incredible level, City have struggled to match their formidable levels of season past and are second in the Premier League, having shown an uncharacteristic level of inconsistency.

This in combination with the fact that Haaland has always been rumoured to have seen City as a stepping stone to Real Madrid, his ultimate destination, have seen rumours already build that he could be on his way from the Etihad Stadium in the not-too-distant future.

And Pimenta has fuelled such speculation with comments made at the Financial Times Business of Football Summit in London.

“There's the Premier League and then there's also Madrid,” she said. “They have something of their own that is also the dream for the players.

“Madrid keeps this magic going. They don't have the weekly competitions, but they have the Champions League.”

’Premier League is the goal for every player

Pimenta, however, did underline the fact that the Premier League is a destination where all promising players target.

“When I started in this business, if I tell a player: 'You move to England,' they would ask me: ‘What did I do wrong?’” she said.

“Now when we talk to players, and ask them what is their goal, they say the Premier League. They don't say a team, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, they say the Premier League.

“This is the first time in 25 years that I hear so many players say I want to go to a league, not to a club. This is the place to be for an agent.

“An agent needs to be where a player wants to be. It's a fantastic league. It's so competitive, every game is a challenge, everyone wants to watch it.”
