The Gunners plan to move for another top central attacker in the summer due to a lack of depth in the position.

Gabriel Jesus’ long-term injury sustained during the World Cup has laid bare Arsenal’s paucity of strikers, with only Eddie Nketiah able to fill in.

Man Utd interested in Lautaro

Manchester United are also keen on Lautaro. The Red Devils have made the purchase of a top-class goalscorer their number one priority this summer.

Wout Weghorst was brought in on loan to replace Cristiano Ronaldo in the January transfer window, but United plan to buy a top-class established number nine in the summer.

Lautaro is on their shortlist of possible signings, along with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Nerazzurri value the Argentine striker well over €100m.

Football Transfers understands that Inter would prefer not to sell Lautaro this summer.

Inter will likely sacrifice some key players this summer due to their financial problems, but it is understood that they consider Lautaro as one of the players to build their next team around.

He also recently signed a new contract until 2026.

Lautaro has emerged as one of the most admired attackers in Europe over the last few years.

He has scored 90 goals in 212 games for Inter since joining from Racing in 2018.

The 25-year-old played a key role in Inter winning the Scudetto in 2021 under Antonio Conte and is in brilliant form currently, having scored eight goals in his last 10 games. He has 16 in all competitions this term.

Lautaro failed to score a goal at the World Cup, although he did find the net in penalty shootouts as Argentina won the trophy.
