Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly battling for the signature of Lyon ace Malo Gusto.

The right-back has been in sparkling form in Ligue 1, inviting comparisons with Trent Alexander-Arnold for his roving style of play down the flank.

At 19 he has been a fixture in the Lyon starting line-up for the past two seasons and also impressed with France, whom he has represented at every age group up to the Under-21s.

Competition looks to be fierce for Gusto's signature, however.

As well as the two Premier League clubs, Tuttosport reports that Juventus have entered the race for the teenager, whose contract is up in the summer of 2024.

Milan and Real Madrid complete the list of suitors, leaving Gusto with no shortage of options if and when he decides to leave Lyon.

The youngster would be available for a fee worth around €15 million and could even move as soon as January should his club receive the right offer.

Juventus are also chasing another French star, in this case one with a sterling club pedigree.

Marcus Thuram, son of Juve and France legend Lilian, forced his way into Les Bleus' World Cup plans with a brilliant start to the 2022-23 and has also caught the Old Lady's eye.

In 17 appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach Thuram has smashed 13 goals, while at 25 he still has plenty to offer looking to the future.

Thuram Sr. spent five seasons in Turin at the height of his career, winning back-to-back Serie A titles in 2001-02 and 02-03 while seeing two more Scudetto triumphs revoked as a result of the Calciopoli scandal.
