Manchester United are planning to offer a new deal to Alejandro Garnacho in order to ward off interest in the teenage sensation.

Garnacho, 18, came to the fore in 2021-22 after shining in the Red Devils academy.

The winger won the club's Young Player of the Year award and led the Under-18 division to victory in the prestigious FA Youth Cup, scoring twice in the final against Nottingham Forest to underline his potential.

Born in Madrid, Garnacho has also caught the eye of Argentina, for whom he is qualified to play through his mother, and was called up to the senior squad for the first time in March, though he did not play.

Juventus are another team to pay close attention to Garnacho's talents, and are monitoring his situation.

United, however, are already planning to keep the winger at Old Trafford for years to come and are acting accordingly.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Garnacho and the Red Devils are already in talks to extend the former's contract, which expires in the summer of 2025.

News of a possible new deal comes in the same week that the teenager made his full debut for United, in Thursday's 3-0 victory over Sheriff.

"I think it was a good performance from him," manager Erik ten Hag said after the game.

"He did what I expected him to do. First, he deserved a chance for the last weeks.

"The start was difficult for him in the season. I was not happy with him, but in the last weeks I was happy with him, a better attitude, more resilience, more determination.

"And what you see is he has the talent to deal with the ball in tight areas, to run behind and especially also his tempo dribbles, he can take players on and that's a good capability now in his football, especially against opponents who are defending as compact as this opponent."
